My heightened sense of misdirection
As already mentioned in my last Twitter update, the mail thing did not go so well. I now know why they couldn’t find anyone in the area itself to do it, because THEY KNOW IT’S A HORRIBLE AREA, for mail delivery at least. Most of the houses are ten miles apart, there are numerous recreational parks which can only be navigated through by people with a heightened sense of direction, which I DON’T HAVE, and then there’s the missing mailbox or two or fifty.
I suppose normal people would have stopped and looked for someone to ask where the hell they are, but I just got in my car and kept driving in a certain, randomly picked direction and hoped that I would see a street sign that I recognised, trying to forget about that one recreational park where I got hopelessly lost and wishing terrible diseases upon its inhabitants. I did eventually know where I was again, but by that time I had already spent 45 minutes driving around aimlessly, wishing those diseases upon people, feeling a desperate urge to throw all the mail out of my car, and PANICKING. I panicked like I hadn’t panicked in the last two years and drove straight back home.
I’ve still got that feeling in my stomach like there are fifty angry demons inside trying to tell me something by way of endless battery. I GET THE MESSAGE! Now if you’ll just let me sit here in peace, perhaps I can talk myself out of panic and into disappointment, thank you.
I called Rob and he said we’ll go back to the area together when he gets home from work and see how much mail we can deliver in two hours’ time. What’s with the rule that you can’t give people their mail after six? I wouldn’t care if I got mail in the middle of the night.
Ah well. Another day, another disappointment. Pfft.

Hi Joyce! Nice to meet you. :D I saw a referral on my stats and decided to check out your site.
I positively adore this theme! It’s so lovely…did you make it? If so, awesome job! The color scheme is great and I really do have a thing for “fixed width” layouts. :D
Oh wow, I don’t know if I could deliver mail in a place like that either! Sounds confusing, I am quite “directionally challenged”. XD I can remember some landmarks but street names…. *poof* goes my memory. :P Were you able to get it all delivered in the end?
Overall I hope you had a lovely weekend! :)
