Royal fun
Life was no fun around the time that I wrote my last post, but things have been looking up for the last couple of weeks.
The weekend before last, Rob and I had to play a darts tournament at my parents’ local pub. My father is in this veteran darts team that gets together and plays on Saturday evenings, just for fun. Rob played with them once and when I beat him later that night, we were both asked if we would like to play for them in a tournament against another team, which has one of the veterans’ son in it.
I wasn’t really going to play in the tournament, but when the other team unexpectedly included another player, I was shanghaied into playing so that the teams were even, nine against nine. Now, the other team was much better, they actually play competition, but I still managed to win seven out of my nine matches against them, making me the best overall player in the preliminaries, and we won the trophy by 41 points against 40. Then the best sixteen played the knock-out rounds. I went out in the quarter final but Rob actually made it to the final, which he lost 3-2 after giving away a 2-0 lead.
All in all, we had a lot of fun and we’ll be back for the next edition in October. Here’s hoping Rob and I will both be in the final then.
In other news, I had a dentist appointment last Friday, which in itself isn’t particularly fun, but because I kept my old dentist even though I moved, I got to go shopping with my mother.
I ordered a new bottle of Naomi Campbell’s Cat Deluxe, and I bought this Royal Chicks top, because I need more white in my wardrobe.
Fortunately my teeth are fine so I’ve got nothing to worry about for the next six months.
